Privacy Policy
Ember: Sleep & Meditation (“Ember”) is operated by Hypnosis and Meditation for Success, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Ember works without an account. We do not collect personal information about you through an Ember account, an analytics service, or advertising.
Information we do not collect
Ember does not use advertising SDKs, tracking technologies, third-party analytics, or Firebase, and it has no user accounts. We do not receive your name, email address, precise location, contacts, browsing history, meditation history, Health data, or payment-card information from the app. We do not sell or share personal information.
Information stored on your device
Ember stores the following on your device so its features can work:
- Session dates, durations, completion status, and session type
- Selected ambient sounds, breathing or guided-session identifiers, bells, and timer settings
- Streaks, total minutes, experience points, levels, and achievements
- Theme, haptic, onboarding, reminder, and Apple Health preferences
- Names and configurations of timer presets you create
These records are not tied to a name, email address, or online account. Ember’s own widgets may read limited progress information through Ember’s private Apple App Group on the same device. Apple-controlled device backups may include local app data according to the backup settings on your Apple Account and devices.
Guided audio streaming
Ember’s long-form guided programs, such as Seven Nights to a Quieter Mind, are not packaged inside the app. When you play one, Ember downloads the audio file over a secure HTTPS connection from our content address, ember-audio.motivationalhypnotherapy.com, which is served by Cloudflare.
As with any internet download, the server receives your device’s IP address and standard request details, such as the file requested and the portion of it being fetched, in order to deliver the file. Ember does not send your name, session history, progress, preferences, or Health data with that request, and no account or identifier ties the request to you. Cloudflare may keep standard, short-lived server logs to operate and protect the service.
Ember keeps a copy of downloaded audio on your device so the session can play again without a connection. Deleting the app removes it.
Apple Health
If you choose to enable Apple Health, Ember asks for permission to write completed meditation, breathing, and guided sessions as Mindful Minutes. Ember does not request permission to read Health records. Health information is handled by Apple’s HealthKit system and is not transmitted to us. You can change Ember’s Health permission at any time in Apple Health or the Settings app.
Notifications
If you enable reminders, Ember stores the selected reminder time on your device and schedules notifications through Apple’s local notification system. Reminder data is not sent to us.
Purchases
Apple processes Ember Pro purchases. Ember uses StoreKit to receive the product information and entitlement status needed to offer, unlock, and restore Ember Pro. We do not receive or store your payment-card details. Apple’s handling of purchase information is governed by Apple’s own policies.
Local diagnostics
For troubleshooting, Ember may write a limited purchase-screen event type, the screen that opened it, the result, and related error text to Apple’s unified log on the device. Those diagnostics stay on the device; Ember does not send them to us or to any analytics service.
Retention and deletion
Local records and cached audio remain on your device until they are removed using an available in-app control or the app is deleted, subject to Apple’s device-backup behavior. Individual timer presets can be deleted inside Ember.
Children
Ember does not collect personal information through an account or analytics service, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
General wellness
Ember provides meditation, breathing, relaxation, and hypnotherapy content for general wellness. It is not a medical diagnosis or treatment service.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Ember’s features or privacy practices change. We will change the effective date when we publish a revised policy.
